New Spock

For a multitude of reasons, I've decided to go friends-only and am only keeping a few things (like vids and fanfic) unlocked. Comment here to be added. I'm usually pretty receptive of new friends and will friend most everyone except scary blank journals or things like that. You must comment here or elsewhere if you want me to friend back, or I'll just assume that you friended me for just watching purposes.

Fanworks Masterpost

Right, so I'm scattered everywhere on this lj, so here's a handy list of things I've created that are of note. This is NOT a complete list of everything I've done. I've intentionally left a lot of things out because they were either too old or too minor to list, thus it's a very selective list. Sorted in a roughly chronological order. A good number can be found at my page on AO3.

*starts vacuuming layers of dust off journal*

Yeah, I think it's time I made a ~happy~ post, or well, a bullet list of things that are on my mind right now.
  • Currenly my main fandom interest is The Avengers, and I made a whole post about my love of Thor/Loki. It is really ongoing and just keeps building. I have cried over them twice, which is huge because I only cry over a ship if its an otp. I'm fairly sure I'll make another post about them, because I wanna rec some things and talk about my feelings.
  • I'm not excited about season 8 of Supernatural. I mean, I'll watch because fuck it, I've watched 7 seasons and I'm there until the end at this point. I mean, it looks all right, but that's all the show is now, just 'meh'.
  • I got a cat! Story: you may recall that I hate cats. Still do. But there was one cat I loved and named Alexander. We had him for just one day a month ago because my dad was given two cats in exchange for one of his puppies. Well, one of the cats was terrible, and we didn't want it. When we tried to give it back, the owner wanted both back, so I was broken-hearted for a long time. Then, the lady changed her mind, and now I have been reuinted with my Alexander. I now know why people like cats, though Alexander is the most chill cat you'll ever meet. Seriously, he just lounges around, it's great.
  • My niece is in kindergarten, so I get to spend a lot of time with just my nephew now. They both love the Avengers. In fact, my nerdiness has rubbed off on them severely. How many 5 or 3 year olds would sit through the Lord of the Rings trilogy? These two did, over the course of six days (we'd watch half a movie before bedtime.)
  • I will pee on everything J.J. Abrams loves if he doesn't give us some details about this fucking movie soon. Sorry, Star Trek into Darkness. The movie after that will probably be Star Trek Rises.
  • I'm really warm and cozy in the land of heatens. My family has taken my athiesm mostly well, even if my mom 'worries about me.' I like that about my family--they may not understand me or agree with me, but they do accept me. It took me a long time to recognize that distinction.
  • Teen Wolf, Stiles/Derek? ME GUSTA. I didn't think that would happen, given that I thought season one of that show was utter crap. It only got really good in season two and fucking fantastic in the latter half of season two. I can tell that (at least at this point) it's not going to be a huge obsession of mine, though. I'm already tired of reading fic and it's only been a couple of weeks. Still, considering how much evidence I need to back a ship, they've done well catching my interest.
  • Mitt Romney is a fucking joke. I've really kept up with politics, and I swear, October 3rd I am so watching that first debate with popcorn and booze. It's going to be hilarious, because Romney will undoubtedly fuck up an say some ignorant shit, and Obama will be his usual calm, cool, logical self.

Fic: Eat Your Feelings, Kirk/Spock

Title: Eat Your Feelings
Series: Reboot
Pairing: Kirk/Spock
Rating: R
Word count: 19,000
Genre: Humor, first time
Warnings: none
Summary: Kirk is court-martialed when he is unable to prove that he did not cause the murder of a crewman. Six months later, the charges are lifted and Kirk takes command again, but now he must contend with both his new unflattering waistline and the torrid love affair between Spock and Admiral Pike.
Notes: I don't even want to go into the hell this fic gave me since the April of 2011, when the poor soul lifeisastranger won a bid for help_japan. I can at least say that I have paid interest and have added more than 17,000 words to the minimum word count, plus a mini-mix of songs inspired by the story (no cover art, because I tried and it looked terrible, trust me.) Beta by the lovely asmallcoat.

General announcement

I will no longer be posting fic on livejournal, mainly because I don't like splitting long stories into parts. All new stories will now be posted solely at the AO3 archive. I will still make a fic post on lj and when I have a new chapter of Follow the Leader, I will upload the story to AO3 and post new chapters there.

In an ongoing effort to post on here more, we have a dream post

I had kind of a fucked up dream last night. I was watching the newest Supernatural episode and liveblogging it on tumblr. I don't remember much of the episode until it culminated in Castiel kissing Dean. Needless to say, tumblr went apeshit and even I was like, DAMN. It goes on and Dean's not overly interested (bless my wincest-loving heart) but then some plot point arrives in which Dean has to fuck Castiel. Yes, fuck him, but hold your horses because he has to do it with this magical object, and it has razors on it. Ow. In fact, he doesn't even have to fuck Castiel, but he volunteers because angel and how can you ask anyone else to endure something like that. I remember posting, "dear lord, this is a metaphor for the entire Dean/Castiel relationship", and from there I woke up.

Oh wait no, before waking up I switched to Star Trek for a second, in which Jim was part of a construction team building a house and it was Spock's new house with Uhura, and oh yeah Spock was pregnant and staring at Jim sweating in the hot sun, shirtless. What the fuck is with my mind?

New e-mail

Posting late, but whatever. My new e-mail is because my yahoo e-mail was apparently hacked. I'm sort of wistful because I've had that account since I first discovered fandom 15 years ago, but I suppose all things come to an end and yahoo was kind of a dick anyway.

It's always a good day when you can make a classical reference

I did a small friends cut, most probably won't notice. I just sort of removed people I never talk to or have no similar interests anymore.

I sort of wish I could be more into Sherlock fandom because it seems like EVERYONE is going apeshit and I'm over here in my corner, eating some Tapioca pudding, nodding slightly and saying, "yeah, I feel that." Don't get me wrong: I LOVED the second series and I reblog awesome posts on tumblr, but I'm not reading fics or watching vids.

Is anyone else watching the Nostalgia Critic's Star Trek month? I was super excited when I first heard he was doing something Star Trek, but so far I haven't been impressed. He's just reviewing the bad ones and he has barely anything new to say. I bet I'll like the reviews better when it goes into TNG era since I haven't seen those movies and know little about TNG. Also come on, he has not made one K/S related joke. How can you watch these movies and not include at least one lame throwaway joke? I mean, do people really look at this

and see nothing of note? He didn't even show the scene, and it's easily the best part of the first movie (some would say the only good part.) And that's bullshit because of the three Star Trek movies Rifftrax has done, there are several hilarious slashy jokes. I swear, if you never saw Star Trek and watched these reviews first, you'd barely know Kirk and Spock were that close and that's a friggen crime. It's like me reviewing The Illiad and making it seem like Achilles was mildly acquainted with Patroclus. It's annoying and quite an understatement.

Happy post

My journal has been, how do you say, bleak. So I figured I'd talk about good, fannish stuff to show that not everything in life is terrible.

SO EXCITED about Star Trek filming. I nearly died at the images of Chris Pine with blonde hair. CAPTAIN FINE HAST RETURNED. I'm eagerly awaiting set pics and ones of ZQ with no eyebrows. And oh lord, Benedict Cumberbatch as the main villain? I'm selfishly hoping it's not a Klingon because I don't want that lovely face all covered in makeup or *shudders* given Klingon forehead ridges.

Speaking of that lovely man, dear lord were the last three Sherlock episodes amazing. I admit to crying a little during John's speech at the end of the third. JUST TAKE MY HEART JOHN WATSON, TAKE IT. I thought about it and if I had to rate them in order of which ones I liked best, I couldn't do it. The one I liked the least though was The Blind Baker, but one out of six is NOT bad and it wasn't like that episode was bad in general. Such quality!

Supernatural has been all right. I mean, it's nothing fucking amazing, but not terrible. Is it strange that my new favorite episode is Death's Door? I don't know why, but it was so beautiful to me and if Bobby has to go, that was the best fucking way it could have gone. Not sure how I feel about
